Book reading session -Kittu's study table

Book reading session

The white crayon
(from the book series Kittu's study table)

Dragged myself to the Just Books Library, Nerul, Navi Mumbai wondering how many would turn up on a rainy Sunday morning for a book reading.
Surprise! Surprise ! A total of  22   kids, freshly scrubbed and clean. All in the age group of 4-6 years. It was heartening to see parents take the effort to leave the house on a rainy morning.
Barely had I started to read the story, a girl started to cry. She didn't have a white crayon in her crayon box. After assuring her I would give her a white crayon later, she kept quiet, only to start crying again. The library owner saved the day. She had brought extra boxes of crayons for challenges like this.
After a noisy book reading the kids created a piece of art with their white crayon on a piece of black chart paper.

With a story book, a piece of self made art the kids went out, content and happy. Each one of them  was given a chocolate bar with strict instructions to eat it only outside the library. All of them obliged much to the relief of the library staff. Its surely a great way to start my week!
